Wind Energy Project Parque Natural Monte Gordo

This is a summary of a study that we did for Wind energy here at the park.

It lists most of the steps involved in a project like this. My partner in this was great, props to Lavinia!

The project didnt go through for many reasons so maybe all the steps were not there!

Please read and ask me any questions at all.

Solar project

To address the lack of fresh water in Cape Verde, Peace Corps Volunteers along with students and faculty at the Technical School in Assomada are designing and constructing a solar still. The prototype model, built in the Fall of 2007, is a simple concrete and glass system that cost $213 and distilled 1.75 liters/day. The phase two model completed in June 2008 cost about the same and distilled 2.25 liters/day.

Phase III entails further design modifications - the same simple design concept, this time using corrugated roofing tiles. The phase III model is under contruction.

Solar Panels for the Agro-Hortelão Association

We have also started a project with Peace Corps Partnership Program for two solar panels for the community center of Hortelao.  With these solar panels we will be able to diversify our products for the doce business.  We will also be able to improve the education for the kindergarten students with a variety of education tools available with electricity.  The project proposal is attached
